Kylie is a sports studies scholar with a multi-disciplinary background, including history, cultural studies and sociology. She teaches in the MA in Hong Kong History program and holds a postdoctoral fellowship in the Department of Social Work and Social Administration.

Her recent research explores bodily discipline in youth bodybuilding, the construction of masculinities in Chinese martial arts, and the roles of sports within correctional settings. In autumn 2026, she will pursue this research as a Visiting Scholar at the University of Glasgow.
