Thomas YE

MPhil Student

Additional Role

Thomas began his journey at HKU in finance and law and made the rather expensive discovery that he preferred to do historical work. Later, he transferred to the Faculty of Arts, where he earned a BA in history and philosophy.

Thomas’s current research project examines the interaction between evolving marriage laws and the concept of “loyalty” in modern China. Beyond historical research, Thomas is also passionate about teaching. He tutors for a wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate history and philosophy courses at HKU. He also interned in the Department of History in the summer of 2026.
