Tim Yung is a historian of Hong Kong, modern China, and world Christianity. His research explores religious encounter between foreign missionaries and China, especially the formation of Chinese Christianity in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. His publications illustrate various facets of Chinese Christianity, ranging from schools to social welfare, from individual beliefs to national trends. More recently, his work has encompassed Asian Christianities, Hong Kong religion, and public history in Hong Kong. He is also committed to the ongoing development of teaching and learning and was accredited as Fellow of Advance HE in 2024. His other research and teaching activities in collaboration with others involve higher education research and development, culminating in the Silver Prize for QS Reimagine Education Sustainability Education Literacy Award (2024).
