Vincent Ho’s research focuses on the history of the environment and science in Hong Kong, with broader interests covering China and Southeast Asia. His current project examines colonial forestry in Hong Kong, highlighting the intersection between environmental governance and imperial projects. Additionally, his work on botanical gardens explores the scientific role of Hong Kong in British imperial expansion, the convergence of diverse botanical knowledge systems, and Hong Kong’s contribution to the rise of modern Chinese botany. His broader research program encompasses animal history and conservation, with projects on avian and aquatic history, as well as the post-war development of Hong Kong's country parks.
